WHY IS THE MIC RIDER ACTION FUND IMPORTANT?
Motorcycling Depends on Smart, Balanced Public Policy
From vehicle standards and emissions rules to land-use decisions and dealership regulations, lawmakers make decisions every year that directly impact:
- What products manufacturers can sell
- Where and how people can ride
- How dealerships operate
- The cost of doing business
A PAC helps ensure the people making those decisions understand the industry and its needs.
Gives the Industry a Strong, Unified Voice in Government
Individually, dealers, OEMs, and aftermarket companies have limited political influence.
A PAC allows the industry to pool resources, making its message louder, clearer, and more effective when engaging elected officials.
Builds Relationships with the Right Lawmakers
Successful advocacy requires ongoing connection with policymakers who understand and support motorcycling.
A PAC provides the means to:
- Support candidates who value fair regulation
- Encourage champions for responsible riding access
- Build long-term relationships that protect the industry from harmful legislation
Helps Keep Riding Access Open
Key issues like land closures, noise restrictions, wildlife considerations, and trail access are constant battles.
A strong PAC helps defend opportunities for street, off-road, and OHV riding nationwide.
Supports Business Growth and Innovation
Regulatory pressures - like emissions standards, tariffs, PFAS restrictions, and safety mandates - can dramatically affect cost, supply chains, and product development.
A PAC helps ensure:
- Rules are reasonable and workable
- Innovation isn't stifled
- The industry stays competitive and vibrant
Shows Lawmakers the Industry Is Serious and Organized
A PAC demonstrates that motorcycling is a real economic force - with jobs, small businesses, manufacturing, and millions of riders behind it.
That credibility strengthens every advocacy effort.
Strategic Investment in the Future of Riding
Without active engagement in the political process, the industry becomes reactive instead of proactive.
A PAC helps secure:
- Long-term stability
- Open access to ride
- Sensible regulations
- A healthy environment for powersports businesses to thrive
